Filming Blog: The First Day
On Saturday, November 14th, my group and I filmed our music video. I arrived at Keren’s house at ten in morning to film my shots and any other shot we needed that could be filmed that day. We chose Keren’s house since it was a bit more ideal to film at her house at the time. Each of us had our costumes on, which were pajamas. Since I had already had a vision of how I wanted my scene to go, my group and I began preparing for the scene so that it would play out well. It was hard in the beginning, lip-syncing awkwardly in front of my friends; however, I found myself getting more comfortable as they kind of cheered me on when I was doing my part of the film. This made the filming process fun and real, taking off a bit of the stress I previously had. We filmed the same shot multiple times to create the vision we all had.
My scene was a shot of two different versions of me staring at each other through a mirror. My scene was an over-the-shoulder shot. I sat in front of the mirror in my pajamas. I grabbed a brush to make it seem like I was doing my makeup to make the version of me outside of the mirror more natural. Next, I had to change into my glammed up outfit to film the second part of my scene. To film this, I made sure the tripod was placed in the same spot as the previous shot. I also made sure that I was sitting in the correct spot as before. Once I was done changing, Keren did my makeup and changed up my hair. This sort of transformation was done to show an obvious change between the version of me in front of the mirror and the version of me in the mirror. Because of this experience, I now know what it is like to work in collaboration with other people and how much teamwork can really help when it comes to projects like these.
