Genre Research: Secret Obsession

This movie was about a woman, Jenifer, lost her memory to a car accident. This is a thriller and suspense movie. With her husband helping her recover, she starts to question if that is really her husband. As she tries to gain her memory back about her life before the accident, she starts to remember pieces of the life she lived and what happened to her before getting hit.

The movie starts off the Jenifer running away from, this unknown man, who seems like he wanted to kill her. The movie shows, Jenifer recovering from the hit, along with getting to know her "husband", Russel, again. As there is a feeling of comfort for Jenifer, there is also a feeling of unease as the actions of Russel become more off putting and stand out. We want to to add that suspense in our movie. So we deicide that we wanted to use the dialog of the characters and the swiftness of the "stalker" to create the uneasy feeling in the movie. But we also wanted to show the contrast of how the characters are overall having fun while something wrong will happen outside. I really liked the how the movie gave the audience a reason to already not trust Russel. We want to create a moment were the audience cant trust one of the characters. With this concept, it will add to the suspense created throughout the movie.

I didn't like that the movie did use as many camera angles and movements, or any specials edits, to make the movie more appealing. It was the same elements throughout. Movements and angles like: Close-ups, zoom-in, Non-diegetic sounds, over the shoulder, etc.. The movie mostly deepened on the acting and sounds to make it suspenseful. I did like that the movie started off with a bit of action, and showing the audience what happened to Jenifer. This helps viewers understand what is going on, and how she got the where she is. There was a scene where Jenifer was trying to remember things from her past but she could not see her spouses face. I don't think are going to use this in our movie the same way it was utilized in this. But it is a concept that we will put the side for future reference.
