Intro Blog

Hi Cambridge, my name is Mya Nikole Rodriguez. I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I have been a part of the Cambridge program since my sophomore year and it has definitely changed me. I find myself to be hardworking and capable; and I would have never realized my full potential if I had continued with my lazy, mediocre ways. Although it was and has been a harsh change in character, I know that it is something I need to adapt to. I am finding ways to not lose myself along the process. Now that I am getting used to working so hard, it has become easier to go back to the way I was before. I am still the same goofy, artistic, loving Mya that I was before. I would love for my hard work to pay off so that I could receive the Cambridge diploma, this would broaden my horizons and provide me with more opportunities. As I work for this achievement, I am also working to be an illustrator. I have already illustrated my first book and it is yet to be published. My eyes are set on the future, achieving more accomplishments, working for the life I want, and being the best version of myself. The person I am is all about improvement. Change is just as difficult for me as it is for anyone else; however, I have already begun to learn that change is necessary, change is natural. The way I recognize and appreciate my strength is by the way I handle change. All I really want for myself is to live up to my potential and be better, someone I am proud of.

Along with illustration, the arts as a whole is my passion. Anything having to do with artistry and creativeness peaks my interest. Music, instruments, drawing, painting, poetry, writing, journaling; even making my notes with bright pens and beautiful headings. I guess controlling the things that are controllable and making them beautiful helps me look at life more beautifully.
