Editing Blog: Portraying My Image
I used the editing software, known as iMovie, to edit my H&M commercial. I had originally filmed the scenes on my aunt’s phone due to her better quality. So, I began by emailing the clips to my iPad. This was where I was going to do all of the editing to reach my final product. I continued my editing process by placing each clip in the correct order. Since I already had the storyboard and a vision in my head on how I wanted the commercial to look, it was pretty easy putting the clips together to fit the story line. Next, I cut the clips to fit the 30 seconds and to my liking. Once the clips were put together the way I liked, I began looking for a possible filter, provided by iMovie, to use. Because of the image I had in my head of how the commercial would look, I felt the original lighting did not suit the image I was trying to portray. So, I began looking for an iMovie filter that gave off the fall/autumn vibe I was going for. However, upon searching, I found iMovie had a lack of variation. I downloaded this application called Prequel. This allowed me to add any kind of filter, or effect. Afterwards, it was time for me to include music and any last minute touch-ups. I picked an instrumental piece for my commercial. This is because most H&M commercials have instrumental music, or music with very few lyrics, as the background music. I began by muting the original audio from the clips. I then picked the song I wanted to play during the commercial. The way I implicated the music was by screen recording the song as it was playing for the preferred amount of time. Then, I added the video to the clips in iMovie. I removed the video itself the from set of clips, making sure to leave just the audio.
